Reuben and Grace Larson eran misioneros y empezaron a trabajar en Ecuador en 1924 con la Alianza Cristiana y Misionera. Los Larson abrieron una estación misionera en la selva del oriente, en Dos Ríos (cerca a Tena), y allí crearon una iglesia y una escuela para los Quichuas de la selva.
Los Larson se involucraron activamente en los inicios de HCJB, y entregaron muchos de los primeros programas evangélicos de HCJB.
El clima selvático afectó la salud de Grace quien tuvo que trasladarse a Quito. Por varios años Reuben dividió su tiempo entre la obra en Dos Ríos y Quito. En 1938, Reuben y Grace empezaron a trabajar en HCJB a tiempo completo. Reuben era directivo de la junta, co-director de la radio e incluso, por corto tiempo, fue el presidente de la organización.
Reuben and Grace Larson were Christian & Missionary Alliance missionaries who began working in Ecuador in 1924. The Larson’s opened a mission station in the eastern jungle at Dos Rios (near Tena) where they started a church and a school for the jungle Quichuas.
The Larson’s were actively involved the founding of HCJB and gave many early HCJB gospel radio programs in Spanish.
The jungle climate was hard on Grace’s health and she was moved to Quito. For Several years Reuben split time between the jungle station and Quito. In 1938, Reuben and Grace joined HCJB full time. Reuben was on the board of trustees, co-director of the radio station for many years and also served briefly as president of the organization.
